An Obedient Dog is a loved Dog!!!

What is obedience all about you ask? Well it can be for home control or it can be for competition training. How will you know what you want? That will depend totally on you. If you come to class with the idea I just want my dog to behave. No Problem! But once you are in class you see how good other people are doing, hear about the ribbons and how much fun showing a dog is. You say to your self I can do that! Well now what, the competition obedience bug has bitten you. What can you do to get into competition training? No Problem we can get you up and ready to show your dog. You will find it exhilarating; you and your dog’s life will change, as you know it.

What are some things you will learn in class? One will be how much your dog loves coming to class. The dog will have your attention to himself for one hour! Just think how much bonding will be happening in that one hour a week!

You will learn timing! By that we mean when and how to praise you’re dog. What to look for in your dogs body language. You’re dog at the same time. Will be learning your body language. What you are expecting from him and also the dog will be getting the doggie socialization that it needs to become a good doggie citizen.

Dogs are social animals. They need to be with people. Tying a dog up in the back yard and only giving it water and food is not enough. A dog needs one on one attention. They need to be a part of the family.

No matter what area of the country you live in. The moat important thing is training your dog. Go to obedience classes in your area, Watch the class ask question. Make sure the instructors enjoy what they are doing. The dogs in class should be up and happily moving around the room. Avoid classes where they use harsh methods of training.
